About Me

Hi there! I’m Miah, a code-slinging disc golf enthusiast with a penchant for pondering the meaning of life (and occasionally overthinking a missed putt). I’m on a mission to lose weight, and this blog is my public declaration of that intention. It’s about accountability, sure, but it’s also about processing the pjourney – the triumphs, the setbacks, and everything in between.

After years of putting my health on the back burner, I was recently diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes. It was a wake-up call, a stark reminder that I need to take care of myself, not just for me, but for my children. My wife passed away in 2012, leaving me to raise our kids on my own, and I’m determined to be there for them for many years to come.

I’m the kind of person who can spend hours debating the ethics of artificial intelligence or the nature of consciousness, then head out to the course for a round of disc golf (where I’ll probably still be contemplating those existential questions). I find solace in the quiet rhythm of coding and the fresh air of the disc golf course, but let’s be real – I also love a good YouTube binge and a bowl of popcorn. (Balance, right?)

This blog is my digital diary, a space where I can document my weight loss journey, share my thoughts on everything from philosophy to pop culture, and hopefully inspire others along the way. I know it won’t be easy – those late-night cravings are brutal! – but I’m excited to feel healthier and more energized.

If you’re on a similar journey, know that you’re not alone. Let’s support each other and celebrate every victory, big or small.

Join me as I navigate the ups and downs of life, one bite, one putt, and one line of code at a time.
